John Lloyd-Jones KC and Jonathan Cox, instructed by CPS East Midlands, prosecuted Ako Faraji who, during a protracted incident in an occupied multi-story block of flats, threw petrol onto numerous Police Officers and a Firefighter before setting them – and parts of the building – on fire. The Judge imposed a ‘Hybrid Order’ (s.45A Mental Health Act) combining a Hospital Order with an extended prison sentence of 17 years.
