Tenancy Vacancies

We are currently inviting Tenancy applications from established practitioners to join our 36 Stone Team.

We are pleased to congratulate Ravi Aswani KC on his appointment as King’s Counsel, reflecting the continued strength and excellence of chambers’ shipping, arbitration and commercial practice.

This achievement sits alongside chambers’ broader commitment to growth and development across all practice areas. We are actively expanding our commercial practice and continue to offer a strong platform for practitioners seeking to build and diversify their work within a supportive and well-resourced environment.

We therefore invite applications from barristers at all stages of practice who are interested in joining a dynamic and supportive team with a clear focus on growth, collaboration, and excellence. Informal enquiries are welcomed, and prospective applicants are encouraged to contact the Head of Stone, Ishfaq Ahmed (iahmed@36stone.co.uk) or the senior clerk, Reiss Nott (Reiss@36stone.co.uk) in confidence to discuss opportunities further.

For a confidential discussion about tenancy in our various practice areas, please contact:

Family: Chris Carr and Kate Tompkins (Joint Heads of Family) or Danny Chapman (Senior Clerk – Family)
Crime: Mary Prior KC (Head of Crime) or Jack Curtis (Senior Clerk – Crime)
Employment & Civil: Rowan Caffull (Chief Executive Officer)
Stone: Ishfaq Ahmed (Head of Stone) or Reiss Nott (Senior Clerk – Stone)
Public: Karen Reid (Head of Public) or Charlie Labrum (Senior Clerk – Public)

Probationary Tenancies

The 36 Group Chambers occasionally offers Probationary Tenancies (traditionally called “Third Six Month pupillages”) to applicants who have successfully completed pupillage in another set of Chambers, but not offered tenancy in that set. Our policy of offering Probationary Tenancies reflects our commitment to those who come to us on the completion of pupillage elsewhere.
