Sebastian Walker authors two commentaries in this week’s Criminal Law Week – The Editors.
First, on the decision in Att.-Gen’s Reference (R. v Tanga) [2025] EWCA Crim 1798 on the availability of consecutive life sentences in which Sebastian’s commentary in Harris and Walker, Sentencing Principles, Procedure and Practice was cited wholesale by the Court of Appeal.
Secondly, on the decision in R. v Khan [2025] EWCA Crim 1477 on the practice of imposing compensation orders in the Crown Court, and the interplay with aggravated damages and the topical issue of compensation under the Criminal Injuries Compensation Scheme.
