Michelle Clarke was instructed by IB Legal in Wolverhampton to represent a 33 year old man accused of raping and seriously assaulting his then 13 year old step daughter.
Very careful cross examination had to be prepared under Section 28 of both the stepdaughter and his own daughter.
His former partner and her mother-in-law were also prosecution witnesses.
Cross examination revealed a number of inconsistencies and potential for manipulation by his former partner and the family.
After closing speeches the jury were in retirement for less than an hour before unanimously acquitting him on all five counts.
