A week before the trial was due to take place the Crown offered no evidence to all the charges that the defendant faced. The client has always maintained that she is a victim of modern slavery and the defence obtained an expert report, psychiatric report and intermediary report as well as the conclusive grounds NRM decision that she was a victim of forced criminality during the indictment period. Following a review the Crown have dropped the case against her recognising that it is not in the public interest to prosecute the case. The case continues against her co-defendant.
