Will Tyler KC and Meredith Major were successful in the Court of Appeal in an important decision on the hitherto unreported issue of the status of the court’s factual observations in proceedings under the Hague Convention 1980 within subsequent proceedings under the Children Act 1989. The appeal came before the Court of Appeal with extreme urgency, the appeal being heard and granted just seven days from the original wrong decision of the High Court Judge. The speed and accuracy with which counsel and their instructing solicitors, Renato Labi and Liam Bennett at Hughes Fowler Carruthers, worked enabled a clear and decisive outcome.
