Bethan represented a vulnerable defendant who was charged with an offence contrary to s.181 of the Online Safety Act 2023. The Crown presented numerous videos in evidence, which had been published online by the defendant, where it was alleged that the defendant was making multiple threats to kill police officers whilst displaying weapons to the camera. After a four-day trial at St Albans Crown Court and extensive cross-examination of Prosecution witnesses, the jury returned a unanimous not-guilty verdict.
