36 Stone at International Congress of Maritime Arbitrators XXIII Singapore 2026

Vasanti Selvaratnam KC, Professor Charles Debattista and Satya Talwar Mouland attended the International Congress of Maritime Arbitrators XXIII Singapore 2026 hosted by the Singapore Chambers of Maritime Arbitration, which took place between 22nd – 27th March 2026. There were over 300 participants from 37 countries, bringing together maritime practitioners from across the globe.

On Monday 23rd March, Professor Charles Debattista chaired Plenary Session 2 entitled “Arbitrator Disclosure”, where Vasanti Selvaratnam KC and Satya Talwar Mouland, Dr. gave their paper on the thought-provoking topic “The mandatory duty of disclosure now placed upon arbitrators by section 23A of the Arbitration Act 2025 – is there a risk that LMAA arbitrators’ previous practice based on the accepted common law could be challenged?”.

On Thursday 26th March, Professor Charles Debattista gave his timely paper entitled “To switch and how to switch – Switch Bills of Lading, carriers, traders and banks” in the Concurrent Session entitled “Bills of Lading and Carriage Issues”.
