36 Group shortlisted for two awards at the Legal 500 UK ESG Awards 2026

We are delighted to share that the 36 Group has been shortlisted in two categories at the upcoming Legal 500 ESG Awards, taking place on Thursday 30th April 2026.

Mary Prior KC has been shortlisted for the Women in Law: Champion of the Year Award.

This nomination reflects Mary’s incredible dedication to supporting and empowering women in the legal profession. As the former Head of the Criminal Bar Association, Head of 36 Crime, and Vice Chair of Education at Gray’s Inn (Outreach), Mary has consistently led by example, championing fairness and inspiring change.

Through her roles as an Advocacy Trainer and Joint Chair of the Midlands Branch of Women in Criminal Law, she has worked tirelessly to create opportunities for women and ensure the profession becomes more inclusive and diverse.

ESG: Bar Initiative of the Year – 36 Family

In January 2025, 36 Family launched a monthly charity webinar series, featuring expert speakers who shared valuable insights on family law. Each session not only promoted professional development but also supported charitable causes, with £1 donated for every attendee who stayed until the end. In 2025 we raised over £1,500 for various charities.

We are delighted to see this initiative recognised at the Legal 500 ESG Awards. This acknowledgement is a testament to the collaborative spirit and generosity of all who participated and supported the series. As we look ahead to 2026, we are excited to build on this success.

A huge congratulations to Mary and everyone at 36 Family for this incredible achievement!

Members of the 36 Crime and 36 Family team are looking forward to attending the prestigious awards ceremony on 30th April to celebrate these accomplishments with our peers.
