36 Crime is inviting applications for Probationary Tenancies.
Over the last 5 years, 36 Crime has successfully recruited 8 of its current tenants via this route. We are again seeking individuals who have experience of practising in the criminal courts; and who are able to demonstrate a real talent for advocacy and the determination and potential to excel at the Bar.
Our crime team has 50+ members including 6 silks. They are supported by a team of 7 clerks. The successful candidate(s) will be joining our under 7-year call team which currently comprises of 10 members, all of whom practise predominantly in the crown court and act for both prosecution and defence. As well as general crime our members also work in related areas such as business crime, cybercrime, regulatory law, health and safety, consumer/trading standards and inquests and inquiries. 36 Crime are therefore able to offer successful probationary tenants the opportunity to diversify into related areas of work in the future.
Probationary tenants can expect:
- A probationary tenancy of 6 months’ duration. You will be invited to apply for tenancy in month 5
- A mentor who will assist with your ongoing training, development, and wellbeing
- A “buddy” from within the under 7-year call team who will support you every step of the way
- Inclusion in all training, work development and marketing opportunities undertaken by the Team
- Clerks who work with you to ensure you develop a suitably challenging practice whilst providing our clients with the level of service they have come to expect from 36 Crime team members
- To be in the Crown Court most days
- No Saturday rota
