Nicole read Law at Jesus College, University of Cambridge, following which she completed a summer internship at Scott, Bhoorasingh & Bonnick Attorneys-at-Law in Jamaica. She then volunteered at Streetwise Community Law Centre for a year before commencing the Bar Professional Training Course.
During the Bar course and in the wake of the cuts to legal aid, Nicole assisted members of the public pro bono as a student advisor for the BPP Legal Advice (Family) Clinic. She assisted and advised individuals in relation to child arrangements, child abduction, divorce, domestic abuse, and financial remedies matters.
Prior to commencing pupillage, Nicole worked as a family paralegal at Hanne & Co solicitors. She worked on all aspects of private family law, with a particular emphasis on trust of land, divorce and private children matters. She regularly attended court and client conferences to assist counsel. Her role as a paralegal also included drafting nuptial agreements and being an advocate for ex parte domestic abuse and private children hearings. Whilst a paralegal, Nicole was praised for her thorough preparation and excellent attention to detail.
