Lady-Gené prosecutes and defends in the Crown Court and has experience on a broad range of offences including fraud, drugs, violence and knife crime.

Her approachable manner enables her to build strong a rapport with clients. Having completed the Bar Council’s Vulnerable Witness Training, she is able to undertake witness handling of vulnerable witnesses and is skilled in defending vulnerable clients, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Personality Disorders and other complex needs.

Lady-Gené has experience in fraud and Regulatory offences, having recently defended a high-profile FCA case involving the illegal operation of a crypto ATM network.

Prior to coming to the Bar, she gained experience in international criminal law working at the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia (The Khmer Rouge Tribunal).

R v E, 2026 – Representing youth defendant in multi-handed trial, charged with wounding with intent and possession of a bladed article. Ongoing.

R v C, 2026 – Represented a defendant who had pleaded guilty to Possession with intent to supply Class A and B and being concerned in the supply of Class C. The Crown placed the defendant in Significant role but was persuaded that she fell into lesser role. The defendant received a suspended sentence.

R v O’S, 2025 – Represented the appellant before the Court of Appeal for an appeal against sentence. He had received a total sentence of 24 months’ imprisonment, which was reduced to 18 months.

R v R-M, 2025 – Prosecuted a defendant charged with threatening another with a bladed article. The defendant was involved in a fight with a large group of men, during which chairs were thrown and used as weapons.

R v O, 2025 – Represented the defendant during sentence in the UK’s first-ever conviction for operating unregistered cryptoasset ATMs.

R v N, 2025 – Led Junior counsel. The defendant was charged with multiple counts of rape, sexual assault, intentional strangulation and one count of taking an indecent image of a child. The defendant was acquitted on all counts save for indecent images.

R v N, 2024 – Represented a defendant charged with affray. After a thorough review of the disclosure and investigation history, it became evident that neither had been properly conducted and the Crown offered no evidence against the defendant.

Lady-Gené has experience across the spectrum of general crime. She represented a defendant charged with attempted s. 20 GBH and threatening with a blade in a multi-handed trial, during which the defendant did not give evidence The defendant was acquitted of all counts. She has also represented a defendant charged with possession of knives outside his ex-partner’s home. The defendant was acquitted of both counts.
