Mr. K K Sharma has over 41 years of legal practice, particularly in construction and commercial dispute resolution both within India and overseas. He has more than a thousand appearances before the Supreme Court of India and various High Courts across India.
Over the last 41 years, KK has appeared before almost all tribunals, administrative authorities, and courts at all levels across India. He has more than 100 reported judgments and has appeared before almost all leading Senior Advocates from 1980 onwards, from across the country.
Since taking Silk in India over 20 years ago, Mr. Sharma has been a part of several large-scale international as well as domestic construction and commercial arbitrations. KK is the go-to arbitrator in complex disputes in several large commercial and construction disputes. He now divides his time between London, UAE, and New Delhi, where he operates from his own set of chambers as a sole practitioner. KK is also listed on GAR.

K K is empanelled as an arbitrator at various international arbitral institutions particularly Dubai International Arbitration Center, and Vienna International Arbitration Center among others. In the last 5 years, KK has had several appointments as sole arbitrator/co-arbitrator alongside retired Judges of Delhi and Mumbai High Court and various international KCs and Judges. As Counsel in construction arbitration
Over the last 30 years, KK has been counsel in 50+ commercial arbitrations particularly where there international parties are concerned and the governing law is foreign law. KK is familiar with and has dealt with all forms of arbitration both ad-hoc and institutional particularly SIAC, DIAC, LCIA, and ICC.
As Counsel in arbitration-related court proceedings
Given KK’s vast advocacy expertise, over the last 20 years, KK has been the ‘counsel of choice’ for Indian and internationals law firms when arbitration related proceedings are pending before various Courts in India. He has appeared in 200+ arbitration-related court proceedings. This includes jurisdictional challenges, challenges to arbitration agreement, interpretation of arbitral clause, challenges to the appointment of arbitrator, enforcement of arbitral awards, and setting aside of arbitral awards.
Most recently, KK has successfully appeared as litigation counsel for a Singaporean engineering company in almost 20 different arbitration-related court proceedings across India and has particularly been successful in setting aside arbitration awards. KK has become the ‘counsel of choice’ for challenging awards particularly where the opposite side is an Indian State government or public sector undertaking.
