Prior to commencing pupillage, Helen worked as a Family CILEx lawyer at a solicitors’ firm in the South West, frequently representing clients at court in a range of family matters, with the additional benefit of litigation experience.
She has experience in a number of sub-specialities, comprising financial remedies work, including high net worth matters, alongside private children proceedings including specific issue orders and internal relocation disputes. She has a particular interest and sensitivity to matters involving domestic abuse allegations and brings both an empathetic yet pragmatic approach to her work. She has further assisted clients with Family Law Act applications and injunctions.
Helen was awarded a First Class Honours degree from the Open University, achieving distinctions in all modules, and thereafter a distinction in the BTC. She previously worked in Internal Communications, transitioning to a career in Law after successfully litigating her own case against a former employer in the Employment Tribunal.
