Azan was called to the Hong Kong Bar in 2012 and was appointed as a Judicial Assistant to the Court of Final Appeal in the same year.
Azan practices as a barrister in a broad spectrum of civil litigation, with particular focus on public law and family litigation, especially in cases involving child custody, ancillary relief, inheritance and probate, adoption, judicial review, discrimination, wardship, and international child abduction.
Azan is available to conduct mediation and private FDRs.
Azan is author and editor of several leading legal texts and is regularly asked to lecture in law, history and medical ethics. He is currently appointed as a Lecturer at the University of Hong Kong. He is the General Editor and Author of the Hong Kong Family Court Tables.
He is the current chair of the Hong Kong Committee on Children’s Rights, and acts as honorary legal advisor to Mother’s Choice and Hong Kong Marriage Equality.
