Will Tyler QC, Hannah Markham QC, Kate Grieve and Lara Izzard-Hobbs acted for the Appellants in H-W (Children) No 2 on 22 March in the Supreme Court. The issue before the Court was the proper application of the proportionality assessment required under the Children Act 1989 and the Human Rights Act 1998 when making care orders.

The decision being appealed was that three of the First Appellant mother’s children be placed into foster care under care orders.
