Sarah Gaunt and Matthew Rowcliffe, instructed by CPS Thames and Chiltern, have successfully prosecuted a murder following a 5-week trial at Reading Crown Court.
The defendant was sentenced to Life imprisonment with a minimum term of 37 years. The attack involved the infliction of at least 37 separate injuries and was described as “sustained” and “horrifying” to listen to. The defendant committed this second murder relatively shortly after he had been released on licence following his previous murder conviction 22 years ago.
