Samuel Skinner, leading Matthew Rowcliffe, instructed by CPS East Midlands, prosecuted Shane Davidson at Derby for historical sexual offences against children. HHJ Hurst, when sentencing the defendant to 25 years in prison, said that this was the worst case of its kind that he had seen. Samuel advised the police and CPS pre-charge on complex aspects of the investigation and drew up the 30-count indictment. Faced with the weight of the evidence, and the considerable pre-charge work undertaken by the Crown, the defendant pleaded guilty to all matters on a full facts basis.
