We are pleased to announce that Mary Prior KC has been elected Vice Chair of The Criminal Bar Association (CBA). Her nomination went uncontested, a testament to her exceptional standing within the legal community.
Mary says: “My aim in my two years will be to assist and support the hard-working and highly professional barristers, who undertake the essential work of prosecuting and defending in the most complex criminal cases to be valued and respected.”
Mary will assume the role of Vice Chair on September 1, 2023, and subsequently ascend to the esteemed position of Chair on September 1, 2024.
The current CBA Chair, Kirsty Brimelow KC, said: “Mary has been an excellent leader of the RASSO sub-committee of the CBA and I am delighted that all her hard work, skill and dedication will be realised in leadership of the CBA. She is already immersed in the challenges facing the Criminal Bar and brings an added perspective from the Midland Circuit. Mary will provide continuity, as well as strong support for the incoming Chair Tana Adkin KC. I send my heartfelt congratulations.”
Mary’s election holds particular significance for us at The 36 Group. Overlapping with the appointment of Hannah Markham KC as the Chair of the Family Law Bar Association (FLBA), these appointments exemplify the diverse expertise and talent that resonates within our set.
Congratulations to Mary Prior KC on this well-deserved achievement!
