Sophie Gayner

Sophie has established a successful and varied practice in public and private law proceedings; acting in urgent applications through to multi-day hearings on behalf of local authorities, parents, children’s guardians and intervenors.

Sophie has developed a strong practice in representing competent children and vulnerable clients in complex and high conflict cases, due to her compassionate and personable approach and is recognised for her perseverance and commitment to achieving the best outcome for the client. Sophie regularly accepts instructions from local authorities who rely upon her robust and detailed approach to ensure cases are dealt with efficiently and proportionately. Sophie’s forensic approach to evidence, combined with the knowledge acquired through her Genetics degree and experience as a paralegal has lead to her instruction in serious cases of sexual and physical abuse, and non-accidental injury from the very outset of her career at the Bar.
