Revocation and Cessation of Refugee Status
As the Secretary of State for the Home Department increasingly utilises revocation and cessation of refugee status when seeking to deport foreign national offenders, not to mention the proposals by the Home Secretary in her “New Plan for Immigration”, this seminar will examine the key cases and the possible arguments to counter the Secretary of State’s reasons for refusal. This seminar will have a particular focus on: the cessation of refugee status under Article 1C(5) of the 1951 Convention relating to the Status of Refugees; the exclusion from refugee status under s.72 of the Nationality, Immigration and Asylum Act 2002; and how cessation and revocation apply to those who are dependants of a refugee.
This event will be held on zoom. You can register to attend the seminar here.
