36 Stone are delighted to have a number of members recognised and promoted within the 2020 Legal 500 Asia Pacific guide.
Recognised for their expertise in commercial law are; Dr Colin Ong QC, a member of the Brunei, English, and Singapore Bars who is instructed as counsel in a range of international arbitration, and is particularly well-connected in Brunei and its neighbouring states; Colin Wright who is called to the Hong Kong Bar, handles both arbitration and litigation relating to the jurisdiction; and Ravi Aswani who has a proven track record of commercial arbitration, among other work.
Within Shipping and Commodities recognition was given to Vasanti Selvaratnam QC who represented the successful appellants at the Court of Appeal stage of Evergreen Marine v Nautical Challenge and who was lauded as ‘intellectually able, an excellent advocate and very much a team player – clients love her’; Colin Wright, who has a track record of wet shipping litigation before the Hong Kong courts; and Mary Thomson who is active in ICC, Singapore, and Hong Kong arbitrations, as either a party-appointed arbitrator or chair and who was noted ‘as an arbitrator, she always shows careful and strong judgement’.
