An announcement from 36 Civil
On Friday 22nd June at 6.50 p.m., The 36 Group completed the acquisition of 4 Field Court as our new home. 36 Civil (comprising Commercial (including Aviation and Art), Property, Employment, Immigration and ADR) is thrilled at this stunning move to a building that is without question one of the finest in legal London.
The move also sees renowned specialist shipping set, Stone Chambers, become part of The 36 Group, where they will now operate under the brand name “36 Stone”. Among 36 Stone’s highly-ranked counsel are Elizabeth Blackburn QC, Vasanti Selvaratnam QC, Dr Colin Ong QC and Professor Charles Debattista.
This is excellent news. For whilst the main focus of 36 Civil is domestic, that of 36 Stone is international (shipping and trade). Together, 36 Civil and 36 Stone will strongly complement each other, and be able to provide a more complete service for our clients.
When refurbishment and upgrading works are complete, the building will have state of the art conference facilities and an ADR suite, as well as easy transport links and great views of the Gray’s Inn lawns.
Richard Wilson QC, Joint Head of Chambers, said: “Chambers is thrilled by the acquisition of such impressive new premises and our being joined by the specialist Stone team. This will both widen the range of specialist services we offer and also allow us to do so from premises of great quality, propelling us further forward, both domestically and in the international marketplace. 4 Field Court is a superb building that matches the ambition of 36 Civil. It will enable us to offer our clients market-leading facilities. We are excited by our acquisition of a Singapore office, and a Hong Kong connection as our international reputation continues to grow, with some members already having established practices in Delhi, Dubai, Dublin and Johannesburg.”
