James Keeley successfully represented a police officer who was in danger of losing her career.
After an investigation by the Independent Police Complaints Commission she was accused of deliberately misleading a jury in four instances whilst giving evidence during a Crown Court trial. However, the allegation of her intentionally misleading was dismissed and she was only found to have been careless in her testimony in two out of the original four allegations. Whilst the Panel found her actions amounted to gross misconduct they were persuaded that a final written warning was the appropriate sanction instead of dismissal.
James was instructed by Ian Townsend of Rebian Solicitors.
