Balancing Act: A 36 Immigration Forum on Article 8

10th June 2016

Tuesday, 28 June 2016 from 17:30 to 20:00 at 36 Bedford Row, London, WC1R 4JH

About this event
Even in the technical field of immigration law, Article 8 stands out for its potential complexity and the rapid, unpredictable development of policies and case law. This 36 Immigration Forum offers practical tips on mastering the balancing act and arguing Article 8 successfully in the immigration tribunals and higher courts. Barristers from the 36 Immigration team will cover the following topics:

‘Public interest’ factors under Part 5A of NIAA 2002 – Ben Amunwa
Article 8 and deportation case law update – David Ball
EEA Appeals and Human Rights considerations – Miriam Benitez
As always, the Forum benefits from your input and provides an opportunity for experienced practitioners and newcomers to share insights and opinions on the latest legal developments. Our popular Forum format includes short presentations and lively discussion, followed by drinks and a delicious Lebanese/ Palestinian buffet.

Who should attend:
This Forum is for all immigration and asylum solicitors and their colleagues seeking to enhance and update their knowledge in the rapidly developing area of Article 8-based litigation. Caseworkers, litigators and advisors at all levels are very welcome to join us, whether working in private practice or with NGOs and other support agencies.
