The Presenters

Jonathon Rushton (36 Property) – 1997 CALL
Jonathan examines fraud and the role played by the Land Registry, looking at a number
of typical frauds, how to spot them and when to seek rectification and indemnity as a remedy.

A guest speaker from 36Crime will look at criminal fraud, money laundering
and cyber crime in the context of a property or land purchase.

James Petts (36 Property) – 2002 Call
James will speak on when a cause of action in fraud should be alleged and will outline
some of the remedies and rights that are specific to a party who can establish actual
dishonesty and how they can be helpful to parties to property disputes.

Both the event and lunch are free to attend and is suitable for anyone with a property
practice who might from time to time encounter alleged or suspected fraud.
