Admitted as a solicitor in 1980. Became a partner in Private Practice in 1984 in Leicester, specialising in all aspects of litigation including family finance.

Appointed as a Deputy District Judge in 1992. Appointed a Fulltime District Judge in 1998., becoming Senior District Judge in Leicester prior to retirement from the full time Bench in 2021.

As a district judge, held a number of tickets including Financial Remedies ,Public /Private Law children and Court of Protection. Served as an Appraisal and Mentoring Judge and served as Chair of the Midland Circuit of District Judges.

Following retirement ,continued to sit in retirement until 2022. Prior to appointment to the Bench was appointed as the first female President of Leicestershire Law Society in 1995/6 and has retained honorary membership of the Society.

In 2020 was awarded the Presidents’ Choice award for a Lifetime of Achievement in Law.
