Shyam has a wide-ranging civil practice and is instructed to appear as sole counsel in the High Court, County Court and various first-tier tribunals. Shyam handles complex cases, one such example was his successful representation of the claimant in the First-Tier Employment Tribunal in an unfair dismissal claim brought against Asda Stores Ltd.
Shyam is currently the second junior in a high-profile commercial litigation matter in the Commercial division of the High Court.

Prior to joining the Bar, Shyam undertook an internship at the Home Office within the Strategic Centre for Organised Crime during which he carried out work that was presented to cabinet ministers and was in regular contact with senior civil servants.
Shyam also worked for over a year as a legal writer and researcher for Sparqa, a London-based start-up company providing online legal information for small and medium-sized companies. Shyam was an integral member of the team helping to create and formulate content to suit the users’ needs. At Sparqa, Shyam wrote and edited content on multiple areas, including intellectual property, employment and company law.
Further, Shyam spent three years organising and coordinating the activities of Ashiana Charitable Trust, a charity based in North London that helps the social development of children and young adults with learning difficulties. He is still an active volunteer with the charity.
