Sajid specialises in commercial litigation and international arbitration. He represents private clients, public bodies and corporate entities before litigation commences, drafts documents during litigation and acts as sole counsel in the County Court, High Court and the Court of Appeal.
Sajid’s clients include international airlines, government departments, offshore trusts, and corporate entities in foreign jurisdictions. Sajid is, therefore, particularly adept at representing parties in disputes involving a cross-border element.
Alongside his practice at the Bar, Sajid is a lecturer in international commercial law and is frequently invited to speak at conferences around the world.

Aviation
Sajid is regularly instructed in a variety of aviation disputes.
His experience includes:
- Successfully defending an airline in an appeal arising out of a claim concerning the Consumer Rights Act
- Successfully defending various airlines in claims arising out of Covid-19
- Advising an airline following the insolvency of a travel agency
- Successfully defending airlines in flight delay, denied boarding, lost baggage and related passenger claims
Sajid has provided training to airlines’ in-house legal teams and has published several papers on aviation law.
Chancery
Sajid acts for clients in traditional chancery and commercial chancery disputes. He has experience in property, insolvency, director and partnership disputes, and is sought after by clients in the UK and offshore jurisdictions.
His experience includes:
- Representing a Virgin Islands registered property company in an application for Rent Repayment Order. Sajid persuaded the court that the company did not manage or control the property in question, although it was the owner
- Representing a defendant in a claim concerning beneficial ownership and constructive trust in a property dispute between family members
- Representing a company in insolvency proceedings in the High Court (Insolvency and Companies Court)
- Representing a claimant in the High Court (Insolvency and Companies Court) in an application against the directors of a company for the registration of the transfer of shares in the company
Commercial Litigation
Sajid acts as sole counsel and as junior in a range of commercial disputes including contractual claims, debt recovery, assignment and Consumer Rights Act disputes, energy and natural resources related disputes, civil fraud, investor and business disputes, and financial services and regulatory investigations.
His experience includes:
- Representing a claimant in a dispute concerning a breach of contract in a building and construction project
- Advising investors in a business on claims concerning breach of agreement and sharing of profits
- Independent counsel on a Review conducted under a former High Court judge to investigate the actions of a bank
- Instructed by the Bank of England on a high-profile ongoing investigation
- Representing a local authority in a claim for data breach
- Representing a claimant in a civil fraud claim arising out a “romance scam”
International Arbitration
Sajid’s arbitration experience includes advising companies on arbitration clauses in contracts and acting in construction arbitration disputes, particularly in foreign jurisdictions.
Sajid is a lecturer at the London South Bank University, where he teaches business law and international commercial law. He founded and is co-chair of the UK Chapter of Energy Related Arbitration Practitioners (ENERAP). Sajid has a close involvement with the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot.
