Racheal is a dynamic member of chambers with a diverse practice encompassing Financial Crime and Regulation, White Collar Crime, Art and Cultural Heritage Law, Civil Forfeiture and Condemnation, Licensing and Regulatory.
Racheal is well on her way to building a strong practice in the interrelated fields of Commercial Crime and Regulation. She defends Fraud and POCA matters. She also frequently assists the Serious Fraud Office with ongoing high-profile investigations.
Racheal has worked directly with the Financial Conduct Authority where she was an Associate within the Criminal Prosecution Team focussing predominately on investigations. While assisting the team, she independently drafted the FCA’s internal practice manual on Prosecuting Corporates. Alongside this role, she steered a regulatory investigation concerning the provision of deferred benefit pension transfer advice as the Principal Investigator.
Racheal is quickly becoming recognised as "one to watch" in the field of Art and Cultural Heritage Law. She has advised The British Museum’s General Counsel in relation to all aspects of the Museum’s work, including on loans, insurance, tax, data protection and corporate governance and has drafted and negotiated various commercial and public agreements. Further, Racheal is frequently invited to talk on Art Law topics by leading London law firms, internationally recognised auction houses and UK NDPB Government bodies.
Racheal regularly appears for the Home Office in civil Cash Forfeiture and Condemnation proceedings in the First Tier Tax Tribunal as well as the Magistrates' and Crown courts.
In addition to her regulatory work in the financial sector, Racheal has appeared as a Case Presenter for the Nursing and Midwifery Council and contested licencing appeals on behalf of Transport for London.
