Lara is a second six pupil undertaking cases in all areas of family law. She has been supervised by Kate Grieve and Chris Carr.
Prior to beginning pupillage, Lara worked at the Infected Blood Inquiry. Her role focused on coordinating the Inquiry’s expert work. She specialised in analysing evidence on the psychosocial impact of infection, including HIV stigma.
Lara has a Masters in Law with Distinction from University College London, covering family law topics related to both children and finance. These included domestic abuse, children’s rights, trusts and company law. Her first degree was in Russian and Philosophy, also from University College London.
Her experience includes a variety of pro bono work, such as advising Family Court litigants in person for Temple Legal Centre and the Personal Support Unit.
She has particular knowledge concerning physical and learning disabilities. She was previously a director of the School Exclusion Project, representing parents of children with special educational needs appealing their exclusion from school. She has also been employed as a support worker for several disability charities.
