Laura is instructed at all stages and aspects of financial remedies work, private children law and Family Law Act applications.

Laura has successfully appeared at all levels of the family court up to and including the High Court as well as having represented both the appellant and respondent in appeals.

Laura regularly represents clients in all types of financial remedy cases including those that deal with issues of conduct, third party intervenors, enforcement and recently in a case where she successfully represented a wife’s financial claim against an allegation of bigamy.

Laura specialises in all areas of private children law including disputes over care of the children, allegations of domestic abuse (having successfully represented both the alleged perpetrator and victim), parental alienation and cases with an international element. She regularly conducts multi-day fact finding hearings as well as being instructed on particularly urgent applications.

Key cases

Succeeded in a complicated fact-finding hearing representing the wife against an allegation of bigamy whereby it was found that she did not deliberately deceive the husband and genuinely believed she had been legally free to marry.

Acted for the respondent in private children proceedings and successfully secured the summary dismissal of the applicant’s application for a Child Arrangements Order.
