Frances Oldham QC has been appointed to Chair the Independent Jersey Care Inquiry which will look into historic sexual abuse in care and foster homes, including the former children’s home at Haut de la Garenne.
She is also a member of a team of independent lawyers, appointed by the FCO, to report on children in military custody in the Occupied Palestinian Territories.
Frances Oldham is a Deputy High Court Judge in the Family Division, Crown Court Recorder, Mental Health Tribunal Judge Restricted Patients Panel, Master of the Bench at Gray’s Inn and was Leader of the Midland Circuit 2002–2005.
Frances is regularly instructed in high profile and complex cases of the most serious and sensitive nature. Her practice encompasses all aspects of both serious and complex crime and child law.
