Emma is an experienced defence advocate who worked as a paralegal for Reeds Solicitors before going to the Bar. As a result her client care, interaction with solicitors and provision of detailed attendance notes is exceptional. Whilst a member of the Bar, Emma has defended in serious drugs cases, complex sexual offending, wounding with intent and robbery cases. Emma is known for her forensic skills in trial preparation, her ability to persuade Judges to grant applications, her legal submissions and her advocacy.

Since joining the 36 Crime Emma has started prosecuting cases in the Crown Courts across the East Midlands and is undertaking a variety of cases including offences of coercive and controlling behaviour, strangulation, production of controlled drug of class B and handling stolen goods. Emma is a level 2 prosecutor.

Robbery and tendering counterfeit currency. (Trial)

Section 18 GBH and possession of bladed article, crown alleged defendant struck complainant to the head with a machete. (Trial)

Attempted sexual communication with a person under 16. Defendant was alleged to have been communicating with a person who was posing as a 13 year old. (Trial)

Possession with intent to supply Class A drugs – cocaine and heroin. (Trial)
