John Simmons secures half-time acquittal at Reading Crown Court in the case of R v AK & Ors.
The Defendants allegedly involved in conspiracy to carry out drone drops facilitated by calls into and out of HMP Maidstone. At the beginning of week three, the client was discharged at the close of the prosecution case.
Written submissions and legal arguments on causation in s.40 of the Prison Act 1952 – R v Kennedy [2007] UKHL 38 and R v Bah [2024] EWCA Crim 1499.
The case against the three other defendants continued. All were convicted.
